May 26th 2003: We all knew it would be tough, playing one of the best clay-court players in the world, Maria was unable to really get in a rythm and lost 6-3, 6-3 today in the first round. Still, congratulations on making it to her first pro grand slam singles main draw.

May 25th 2003: A tough task ahead for Maria as she will face Magui Serna in her opening match in Paris, let's hope things will go well:)

May 23rd 2003: Wow, an amazing comeback by Maria today in Paris! After losing the first set 7-6 and losing 5 of the 6 first games of the second set, she came back to post an incredible 6-7, 7-5, 8-6 win!!!!! We should know tomorrow who Maria will face in the first round of her first ever Grand Slam main draw:)

May 22nd 2003: Wouhou! Maria successfully advanced to the third round of the French Open qualifying with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Maria Vento-Kabachi!:) Finally, she will need to beat Yulia Beygelzimer to be in the French Open main draw.

May 21st 2003: I'm very sorry for the delay in posting this but as expected, Maria is playing the qualifying tournament for the French Open! Today, she won her opening match, a 6-3, 6-3 win over Anastassia Rodionova, the #4 seed:) Next up is Maria Vento-Kabachi. Things certainly look good for Maria!:)

May 12th 2003: Great news! Maria defeated Christina Wheeler in straight sets yesterday in the Sea Island final!:) It is her fourth ITF singles title:)

May 10th 2003: Maria saw her opponent, Anna Kournikova withdraw today hours before their semifinal because of a thigh injury..

May 9th 2003: Maria won her 3rd round match in Sea Island, a 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 win over Kristina Brandi! She will now face either Anna Kournikova or Sunitha Rao.

May 8th 2003: Good news, Maria won her second round match in Sea Island and will now face Kristina Brandi, a good test in perspective:)

May 8th 2003: Maria is back in action today as she will face Petra Rampre at 5PM on centre court...

May 6th 2003: Maria won 6-2, 6-2 her opening match today in Sea Island today!:)

May 5th 2003: Well great news as Maria is back in action this week in the 25K Sea Island tournament!:) She is the #3 seed there and will face an American Julie Ditty, ranked #327 in the first round! Go MASHA!:)
